These are some spreads from my final university project, A Stitch in Time. I wanted to create a zine about the importance of repairing the things that we own. I spoke to my grandparents and individuals who work within repair to gain a better insight into what fixing things means to them - i think the overarching attitude was one of great respect and love for the art of caring for your belongings.
The woods near my childhood home have a mysterious well, supposedly a source of great health benefits. There was also a spray-painted monster under a bridge. I was inspired to make some observational drawings and create this zine.
Original etchings (my first metal etchings!) created for A Stitch in Time. This is my grandparent's shed, where they keep all their tools. There's a lovely workbench made of a huge stone slab, and an old drill press. I was never allowed in as a child so it always felt special when i got to look inside. I think the smell of the sawdust is one of my earliest memories of my grandparents' house.
Bought a broken Casio PT-20 and started tinkering. Kept all the photos and scans once i'd finished.
